is upgrading to a video card to acquire direct x 10 worth it?

500 dollars for a card is expensive and i am not a hefty gamer. but i am going to get window vista. so i want to be sure that i will be able to receive the most of it. i know vista will work fine with direct x 9, i am not sure if direct x 10 will be that much bett or is this a passageway for manufactures and microsoft to gross more money.

is upgrading to a video card to acquire direct x 10 worth it?

No. there's NO such thing as a Directx 10 winter sport!!! by the time the directx10 games are out, that 500 dollar card will be more like 100 dollars near far better cards out. Wait until there are actual games out nearby for it.
Yes, it is optimised to run with Visa Ultimate!!!!!

Only in that is NO software that needs directX 10.

And NO games released for directX 10!

So it is a bit of a surplus of money and time.
i'd wait, more direct x10 budget card will be coming out contained by a month or two alot cheaper, but if you can't wait in attendance is a 8800gts 320mb that is $300 bucks
