Is at hand any one brand of internal easier said than done drive better than another?

To put in the picture you the truth, these days your really merely contending between Seagate and Western digital.



Seagate consumed Maxtor last year, and Maxtor have consumed Quantum some time ago. IBM used to make drives but they be eaten by Hitachi. So adjectives and all, your really simply left near those few companies and really if you read the reviews that only leaves Western Digital and Seagate.



In my judgment, I have other liked Western Digital drives, they are cheap and reliable, but within certain cases I own seen alot of the OEM ones die. A few more than the Seagates (barracudas especially) and I hold noticed that vs Seagates, the wish chirps are louder on the Western Digitals more often than not, and attain louder faster. So for future purchases I'm more ready to get Seagates.



The foundation that Hitachi isn't an option is basically because of the high anticlimax rate that the IBM "Deathstars" had. I can single hope that Hitachi has better those models since then, but i importantly doubt it.

I one-sidedly prefer Seagate, they are very pious, well priced and reliable.
I would stay next to the bigger brands (Western Digital, Seagate, Maxtor, Samsung even).
I personally trust merely Seagate & Western Digital. They are the two pioneers in rugged disk engineering and remain the leaders in actions & technology.

Avoid Maxtor & Quantum. Although generally reliable they hold the highest dead loss rates among the top manufacturers.
