Is near any "fix" to utilizing CD/DVD Lightscribe technology through the Windows 98SE OS?

I just this minute purchased a new internal DVD R/W drive. One of my specific requests was “Lightscribe” technology (the fitness to produce a 2-tone image on specially designed disc and DVD media). I reviewed the data supportively before buying. An esteemed factor was whether it be compatible with Windows 98SE. The description clearly stated that indeed it be. However, upon receipt and installation, I discovered from several industrial support sources, when I couldn’t get it to work, that the “Lightscribe” characteristic ONLY works under the Windows XP or 2000 OS. I be disappointed to learn that the system compatibility notes listed for these drives apparently refers single to their standard read and write capabilities but NOT to “Lightscribe”. Since 98SE is no longer universally supported, I be told that there is presently no “fix” to take it to work with Windows 98SE. Furthermore, my desires delegate that I use lone my present Windows 98SE OS so that upgrading to 2000 or XP is not an option for me right very soon
