Is here a USB TV tuner that will work powerfully near a satellite?

The TV tuner that I enjoy now will solitary detect the channels on cable and cannot detect satellite channel, thus I cannot use my computer as a true DVR. Is there a guaranteed kind of TV tuner that I hold to get that will sanction the channels on satellite or am I out of luck?

Yes. The Hauppauge 150 let me control my satellite & cable box ... both.



It must be said, though, that the programing of the tuner to learn the cable & satellite box codes be done via the Windows Media Center operating system. I use the Media Center remote (made by Hauppauge) to control all boxes.



Even if the boxes are not approved it allows you to program the Hauppauge 150 to learn the codes ... works perfecly for adjectives my scheduled recordings.

You can't control the channels from your computer, but try hooking a satellite decoder box to your tv tuner, and rut surf using the decoder box.

I had the adaptec tuner next to my old hp laptop and it worked great for satellite. All of them will work next to a satellite so you don't have to use the satellite remote. They use an ir blaster to translation the satellite channel from the tuner using the provided remote. Email me if you own any quetions.
